EAST FACING PLOT

East Facing Plot

A north-east facing plot is best for all type of constructions, whether a house or a business establishment. However, due care must be taken while deciding the construction of the interiors, i.e. rooms and placement of furniture etc. Road

The road on the east side should be lower than the plot and the slope while constructing from south towards the east direction i.e. from the rear of the house towards the front.
 

Open Space
Open space in the front of the house should be more in comparison to the back side i.e. more in east than in the south-west.

Gate
The main entrance gate to the house should in the northern half of the front. It brings peace in the house. The gate in design should not be in arc shape i.e. higher in the middle in comparison to the sides.

 

Levels

North - East of the plot should be the lower in construction in comparison to the south-west ,the floor levels as well as the top roof/terrace levels of the house. 

Boundary Wall

The front wall for a east facing house should be lower than the back wall. The east wall may be constructed at the end of the construction, i.e. after constructing the house. The boundary wall in south-west portion should be wider than walls in the north-east.

Water Storage/Sump

Never construct the water storage tank in the back/rear portion of the house. It can be in the either in the eastern part or the northern, but not in the center portion in the front/eastern wall .

Bathroom

Bathrooms can be constructed in the south-east or south-west portion of the house. Even north-east.   

Door
The main door to the house can be in the north-east or mid-east portion of the house   door should never be in the south-east of the house.

Balcony/Verandah
Balconies should be in the north-east of the house and never in the south as rays of the morning are beneficial. If any verandahs are constructed in the south-west portion

comparatively bigger verandahs must be provided in the north-east direction.

Bedrooms
The master bedroom should be constructed in the south-west of the house, should never sleep with head towards the north as this might result in sleeplessness
.

Pooja Room

Pooja room should be in the north-east of the house. One's face should be towards the east

window in the north-east wall is beneficial. And the ceiling of the pooja room should be lower.

Staircase

The stairs should be constructed in the south, west, or south-west portion of the house, and clockwise if turning.
  

Kitchen

The kitchen should be in the south-east of the house. The lady of the house should face north-west. Fridge should be in the north-west of the kitchen or South-East.

First-Floor

More construction should be done in the back portion the house in comparison to the front portion. A terrace in the north-east portion is beneficial.

Septic Tank

Septic tank can be constructed in the mid-north or mid east.

Landscaping

No tall trees should be planted in the north-east, however south-west can be used for plantation.

north east is beneficial. If you like to keep a fountain, it can be installed in the north.

Overhead Tank

Overhead tank should be in the south portion of the house, and must be raised a few inches.angles. If the position of water tank is changed from this direction, it may cause adverse effect on health. 

Basement
North-east of basement should be kept light, big and heavy things should not be placed there. Northwest of basement should be lighter than south-east. Heavy material should be kept in south, south-west and west direction. 

Application of Vastu Shastra

In the world everything, substance, man and other animals are made from the Panchmahabhoot that is the

five basic elements. The earth, the water, the fire, the wind and the sky. The five elements have close relationship with man and his environment. Nature has given them their proper place according to merit.

If we give proper place to these elements at proper places in our building we become one with Nature. Actually nature is the God. One can experience the eternal truth of nature on every step. The whole nature is overpowered with magnetic environment.

The modern man has waged a war with nature in many fields. We can see nature with our own eyes and we

can experience the Panchmahabootas. Going against them would lead us to sure destruction. Taking the surroundings and the proper places for these elements into consideration, the sages and seers introduced

Vaastushastra. For showing themselves rational, some people think Vaastushastra as superstitious. This is

really a great misfortune for them. 

In the old times maximum use of wood was made in the construction. Wood is a bad conductor of

electricity and as such does not interfere with the power in environment. Today wood being very costly,

minimum use of wood is made in the construction. On the other hand steel, iron, aluminium etc. metals are

used on a large scale. With their divine vision the sages and seers created Vaastushastra so that a man should

live a happy and prosperous life with his family.

Many a times a man purchases a place (plot) or house because it is cheap. He does not pay any attention to the usefulness or harmfulness of the same. If he purchases a place, plot or building using the principles

of Vaastushastra, his economic front definitely improves and gets peace and prosperity. However, if the selection goes wrong it leads to financial losses, untimely deaths of important people, gap in the education of children etc. He then turns to God. After taking all possible measures if the position remains bad he blames his fate.

There is no denying the fact that mental peace is definitely derived if we build our house using

Vastushastra. Many a times we are living in a house which is built as per the norms of Vaastushastra. Probably we have not even heard of this science. Many a times we change our old residence and move to a new one. We do not get the same peace of mind, happiness and prosperity. On the other hand, there are

clashes and financial losses. In such cases we should show the building to an expert on Vaastushastra and

make the necessary changes. While giving guidance to many people at Bombay, Pune, Aurangabad,

Nasik, Nagpur, Delhi , Calcutta, United States, Malaysia Singapore & Nairobi, we observed that after making necessary changes it took at least 21 days before the building started giving fruits of the labour. At some places this time period extended to 90 days.

Without Karma (Action) there are no fruits. But if we are not getting the returns after good Karma then, by

following Vaastushastra we can remove the defects in the structure and enjoy the fruits. However, if after removing the defects in the house, we don’t do any thing, progress is not possible. Karma needs the help

and support of the basic elements, nature and environment. To make changes in our building structure as per Vaastushastra is also a sort of work i.e. Karma.

Vastu Tips for Furniture in Bedroom

The dressing table should be in the East or North: The Scientific Reason – The constant light from the North or East will light up your face when sitting in front of the mirror, thus allowing you to dress up well.

Study table should face East, North or North-East: The Scientific Reason – The constant light from the North and the morning sunlight from the East will make reading easy, without  much straining.

Avoid Television in the bedroom: If a TV is kept, it should never be directly in front of the bed as it works as a mirror and generates negative energy. It can be kept to the right or left of the bed at an angle for comfortable viewing from bed. The Scientific Reasoning - A T.V.  does not encourage intimacy. In fact it only encourages people to become couch potatoes. Also, the waves from the T.V are not good for your health and so keeping the T.V  far away is always preferable.

The safe should be in the South-West, opening towards North: The Scientific Reason – The heavy stuff is preferred in the South or West sides to serve as a buffer to the hot evening sunlight. Since the constant light is from the North, you can see clearly into the Safe if it opens towards the North.

Keep some open space in the North-East: The Scientific Reason – The Constant and beneficial sunlight from the East and North should engulf the whole room and not get blocked by heavy furniture.

Keep things that make you happy in front of the Bedroom door: The Scientific Reason – Upon entering, your bedroom, the first thing yo u see should be something that gives you the feeling of peace and serenity such as a photograph, a favorite quote or even flowers that enhance these positive feelings. Keep objects that remind you of unfinished tasks out of the room, or at least out of sight as the bedroom should be a place where you can totally relax.  It is obvious that things that make you happy will give a positive feeling.

Beds should not be shaky: The mattress should provide good support to the body while resting. The Scientific Reason – The essential function of the bed is to provide a surface which is neither too hard nor too soft for the back. A shaky bed will creak and disturb others when people turn on the bed.

Computers should be kept in the South-East: The  Scientific Reason -  The South-East is considered the Aagneya (Fire) corner. The ‘Vastu Pundits’ consider electrical appliances as the equivalent of fire and happily encourage you to keep all electric gadgets in the S-E of every room.

Wardrobes should be in the North-West or South-West: The Scientific Reason – They serve as buffers to the hot evening sunlight coming in from the West.

Attached bathroom should be in the East or South-East : The Scientific Reason - Normally the bathroom is used for bath and other activities, early in the morning, and so will be wet after use. If it is placed in the East side, the morning sunlight will dry up the area and the UV rays will kill all the germs.

Avoid mirror directly opposite the bed: The Scientific Reason – When you wake up in the morning, all untidy and disheveled, it may be a shock when you see yourself in the mirror as you sit up in the bed!

Avoid religious idols: The Scientific Reason – Many people may feel uncomfortable to lie around with their feet pointing towards the religious idols, as they believe it is disrespectful to god.

Avoid Clutter: It represents stagnation. The Scientific Reason - When you see clutter you feel helpless about it, and it just keeps accumulating and becomes an irritant in your mind. Removing clutter in your bedroom will help you feel more efficient and function optimally. To tackle clutter, first take on small projects to help you avoid the feelings of being overwhelmed by the task at hand.

Avoid storing things under the bed: The Reason - The space under the bed gets very dusty and cannot be cleaned often. Hence it is meaningless to store anything there.

Presence of positive energy is important for women during pregnancy or conceiving as any wrong decision on their end could even make couple childless or bearing persistent misfortunes. Pregnancy is an esoteric experience and privilege that only women enjoy; while wishing for a healthy baby is common thinking. A Vastu compliant house not only yields good and positive results but indeed help women to deliver healthy offspring. Pregnant women must consider some significant tips of Vastu so as to give timely birth to child and to avoid unnecessary problems. For the expectant mothers, nine months’ period can be extremely overwhelming and surprising. It is believed that apart from taking a gynecologist’s advice into consideration, certain simple Divine Vastu tips can also be followed to bear a healthy child. 

• Single women should take the room in the North-West as first option if they are looking to get married. This particular direction is ruled by the element ‘Air’ and planet ‘Moon’ and has qualities related to change and transformation. As a second option they can use South-Eastern room (‘Fire’ element and ruling planet ‘Venus’). Keeping a henna plant, fresh flowers and hanging wind chimes can further improve the chances of early marriage.
• Couples who are planning for the pregnancy should use the North-Western room (‘Air’ element) till the onset of pregnancy.
• To avoid any problem during pregnancy, the women should sleep in South-Western bedroom or as a second choice in North-Eastern room. They should never sleep in North-Western room during the pregnancy.
• They should preferably sleep keeping their head in the South direction.

• Women expecting a baby must never sit in rooms, which are dark and bleak which can lead to depression; there should always be some light in the rooms.
• It is always good to read motivational books during the time of pregnancy. In addition, women should hang images of beautiful, healthy children in their bedroom and look at them several times a day.
• According to Vastu Shastra, a staircase in the exact center of the house may lead to health problems for pregnant women, so take care to get the stairs away from this zone.
• Heavy furniture should not be kept in the middle of the house, as it is the ‘Brahmasthan’ and needs to be kept as empty as possible.
• Ensure that there are no overhead beams running through the center of the house or it would lead to a disturbed mind.
• Lighting a lamp in the ‘Fire Zone’ (South-East direction) daily is important for good health.
• Pregnant woman should avoid restroom under stairs to avoid negative vibes.
• Do not plant thorny plants like Cacti and plants which exudes white sap, like rubber plant etc. They should also avoid ‘Bonsai’ plants which symbolizes stunted growth.
• Paintings depicting violence, war, dragons or any negativity should be avoided.
• Meditate and practice breathing exercises sitting in the North-Eastern corner of your house while facing East.
• Always keep the curtains of the southern and western windows closed between 10 am to 6pm.
• Women who are already pregnant must stay in an environment that is lively and fresh. For that matter, it is good to keep fresh flowers in every part of the house. If a baby girl is expected then keep fresh flowers in the Western direction.

 

Logical and Scientific Explanations of some of the above Vastu principles:

Electrical and Electronic Gadgets

Normally, a lady’s basal body warmth is higher during pregnancy.  It is, therefore, advisable for the lady to keep herself away from and being too near a television, a computer or any heat generating gadget that emanates electrical or electro-magnetic energies (‘Fire/Agni’ element). This way, she can avoid increasing her internal temperature to a dangerous level without even being aware of it.  Normally, a woman dissipates body heat through her skin and breathing. The fetus that is growing has normally a temperature which is a little more than the mother’s and dissipates its heat across the placenta and through the mother’s blood stream. Fetal damage can possibly occur if the mother or the fetus does not cool down quickly after the temperature of the core rises.

Certain Finnish (Finland) studies have revealed manifold increase of miscarriages in women using computers. It may also worry you about using a laptop or tablet during pregnancy. Be assured that they are safe to use. Just bear in mind that laptops can give out a lot of heat, so don't put it on your tummy as overheating could harm your baby. It's also best not to put your laptop directly on your thighs, because it could burn you. Put your laptop on a table or on a cushion on your lap.

The South-East sector of the building and the South-East sector of a room are places to be avoided by a pregnant lady at least for the first three months.  Medical science tells us that by the end of the fourth month, almost all the major organs of the fetus are formed.  The brain stem and the limbs are formed and begin to mature. Most pre-natal damage capable of causing birth defects occurs during this time.  This period, commonly known as embryo-genesis, can cause organ-specific damage.  However, brain development continues throughout the period of pregnancy.  Therefore, there is really no safe period for strong intense bursts or continuous doses of electro-magnetic frequencies during the months of pregnancy.

Thermal Heat

Research on the effects of thermal and non-thermal electro-magnetic fields has shown reported 50 percent miscarriages in pregnant women who slept in electrically heated waterbeds.  Thermal heat is, therefore, another factor that affects pregnancy. When the Eastern part of the Earth is heated, its Western part remains cold.  Consequently, thermal electricity generated by the Sun travels over the surface of the Earth from East to West. A pregnant lady can sleep in a North-East room. It is a known fact that the Sun’s rays can be split into seven plus two colors. Beginning from ultra-violet ray in the first part on the Eastern side corresponding to North-East, the Sun’s beneficial rays further split into violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red and infra-red in the last part corresponding to the South-East.  Ultra-violet and the cold colors of the spectrum are said to have a soothing effect on the body and hence, the North-East room is recommended for a mother-to-be.

Since blue has a cooling and astringent effect, a night lamp giving soft blue light in the room during night, is suggested.  The other two colors of the cooling trio viz., violet and indigo can be alternated during the entire period of pregnancy. Violet is said to be good for bone growth, maintaining the potassium and sodium balance of the body.  Expectant mothers who regularly meditate will be happy to know what Leonardo da Vinci said that “the power of meditation can be 10 times greater under the violet light falling through the stained glass windows of a quiet church...” To put it simply, violet is an inspiring and spiritual color. Ultra violet ray, which is the head of the ‘cool’ colors and is said to normalize all metabolism and glandular activities can also be used with advantage..

 

Remember, it is very important to have rooms such as your bedroom, living room, dining room etc. in accordance with Vastu Shastra to make sure you conceive early and give birth to a healthy baby. Vaastu Shastra -Relation with Five Basic Elements:

We all agree that the whole universe is made up of five basic elements, the Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. Our body is also made up of these five basic elements of nature also known as panch-mahabhootas. 

The panch-mahabhootas are related to our five senses of smell, taste, hearing, touch and sight. Any imbalance in our external and internal Vaastu translates into unhappy situations. Vaastu teaches the individual to live in balance and harmony with the panch-mahabhootas.

Prithvi (Earth)
Human beings have a natural and emotional affinity with the Earth. The Earth revolves around the Sun and has gravitational and magnetic force. Scientists have proved that earth is a huge magnet with two poles-North pole and South pole.

It has also been proved that the human body is a 'magnetisable' object with a large percentage of iron in the blood. As we all know, opposite poles of a magnet attract each other and same magnetic poles repel each other. The Vastu principle of placing the head in South direction while sleeping is based on earth's magnetic property.

Jal (Water)
After earth, water is the most important element. It is linked to our senses of taste, touch, sight and hearing. It is quantitatively the largest of the five elements, as more than 80% of our body and two-third of earth's surface is water. Most ancient civilizations came up close to rivers and water sources.

Vastu provides important information about the placement of water sources like wells, boring, underground water tank, overhead water tank etc, while planning the house. Positions for drainage of water, septic tanks, sewerage, drains etc. are decided carefully to optimize the benefits of water element.

Agni (Fire)
Sun is the most vital source of energy and light. It is the soul of the universe. Fire element "SUN" is related to our sense of sound, touch and sight. It is difficult to imagine life on earth without Sun.
When the Sun rays combine with water, they get additional benefits. it is, therefore, recommended to have a water source in North-East direction.

Vayu (Air)

Aakash (Space)

If you and your spouse are not having good relations with each other then follow these vastu remedies. 

1. First of all the bedroom’s direction should be south, west or south-west. South-east is the worst direction for a married couple as it is the place of fire. 
2. This direction leads to regular fights; either the husband or the wife remains angry all the time. 
3. Books, shoes, utensils should not be kept inside the bed. 
4. There should be one mattress on the double bed. For that you can stitch another mattress at home and place it on top of the two mattresses. 
5. The color scheme of the bedroom, bed sheet, pillow covers should not be odd like red. 
6. There shouldn't be any photograph or painting which has some fierce animal in it like lion or elephant. 
7. While going to sleep, instead of keeping a water bottle, alarm clock or mobile phone near your head, keep it on the floor or on the side table. 
8. Some feng shui tips are that you can wear crystal, you can hang double-happiness symbol in south-west direction, etc. 
9. If you are having trouble in conceiving or are having miscarriages, then keep in mind that your bedroom should not be in north-east direction. Vastu Tips to Reduce, Kid's Exam Stress

Are your kids preparing for their ensuing exams? Do you find them getting stressed up? Do you find that their concentration is taking a back seat? Are they fretting and fuming at you? Do they say 'I can't remember whatever I study'? Do they feel that the red stop sign is constantly displayed before them when they study? Does all this stress you too?

As the exams get near, you (and the teachers too) tend to constantly advise the youngsters to study better and harder so that they excel in their class. You tell your kid that he or she has to study more and more, else the kid may not even pass the exam. This not only over-stresses the child but also causes him or her fear and anxiety of the ensuing exams.

It is necessary that the child is relaxed and does not feel the strain of studying and at the same time is able to assimilate comfortably whatever it studies without getting stressed up. Too much motivation can stress the young mind and can cause more harm than help.

Some simple Vastu (and other) guidelines, as follow, can contribute to better concentration of your kids and make them go to the exam hall without fear and write their exams with courage.

The Golden Rules

1. Never sleep with the head to the west and north.

2. Never sleep in the northwest sector of the home or northwest part of the room (if he is a boy)

3. Never sleep in the southeast sector of the home or southeast sector of the room (if she is a girl).

4. Avoid mirrors in the bedroom.

5. Avoid mirrors on the south and west walls in the study area.

6. Study facing east or north.

7. Keep the study table and area extremely clean without dumping books and papers around.

8. Have the study area in the northeast sector of the home or the northeast part of the room.

9. Have a lukewarm shower before going to bed if stressed up.

9. Have a fish aquarium, water fountain or a half a dozen bamboo plants in the northeast of the living area (where the family gets together) but never in the corner.

9. Make liberal use of green and yellow color (dark and light hues) in the bedroom and study areas. These colors can be used as bed linen, study table cloth, indoor plants (herbal), floor mats, curtains, pillow covers, clothes, etc.

10. Face east if she is a girl and north if he is a boy while dining.

11. To occupy the same place and orient to the same direction each day to build up the kid’s positive aura in the area.

12. Never allow others to make use of the kid's study and bed area.

13. Eat a few leaves of the Basil plant each morning on an empty stomach

14. Never play loud music that can contribute to mind distraction and stress,

16. Avoid sleeping or studying in a room that has the door at an angle to the attached walls

Tell your kid that you are there to support him or her and always make positive comments of the kid's better points. Never ever make the mistake of advising or commenting on the kid's shortcomings while the kid is on the dining table. Make them feel that you love them.

Allow them to have some relaxation like playing sports and music or taking them out to a restaurant without compelling them.

Don’t promise rewards to your kids for the outcome of the exams. On the other hand during the period of preparation give them small gifts patting on their backs now and then. It is always advisable to follow Vaastu guidelines while designing a plan both for personal and commercial spaces. Application of Vaastu principles becomes more important while planning a restaurant as it is important to prevent it from running into losses because of the problem with planning. You may face obstacles or invite troubles, if you do not plan your restaurant according to Vaastu Shastra. Everyone seeks to have a well maintained and attractive restaurant to enjoy the meal of the day. But not every restaurant is able to attract visitors to its premise due to the Vaastu defect. A restaurant constructed on the basis of principles of Vastu not only prospers in attracting customers but can earn goodwill as well. Commercial projects like restaurants should always be constructed according to the Vaastu guidelines so that owner doesn't have to incur losses. Following are the Vaastu guidelines for the construction of a restaurant.

• It is advisable to make sitting arrangement of restaurant on first floor only.
• Main entrance of the restaurant should always be from East or North.
• Reception in restaurant should be better placed in Northern side.
• Storage room to store raw material, grains etc must be ideally placed in South-west.
• Kitchen in the restaurant should always be held in South-east and avoid other location or direction for kitchen.
• Keep the location of restaurant well recognized because Vastu defected locations can affect the flourishing business of restaurant.
• Keep the North-east of restaurant clean and tidy and also incorporate water source such water fountain here.
• Toilets should be located in North-west or West of restaurant.
• Generators, invertors, geyser and other electrical equipments should be placed in South-east only.
• Always tint your restaurant wall with light shades and avoid dark and complicated colours.
• Shape of the plot in commercial place plays a significant role in making business healthy and wealthy, so Vastu suggests having regular shape plot for restaurant.
• Restaurant should not be dark and dingy instead it should be well ventilated and lighted place.
• People sitting on the reception or owner must face East or North direction while receiving payment.

2014 - MUHURAT / Griha Pravesh / Bhumi Poojan as per Vastu Shastra

Vaastu Muhurat According to mahurat chintamani, Leo constellation (singhasth), Vyatipat, Vaidhriti, Dagdhtithi, Guru (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus) when set, weak moon, Rikta tithi (4/9/14) are not auspicious for starting house construction work or any other good and auspicious work. Some scholars are of the opinion that if Jupiter or Venus are set (Tara) it doesn't matter. Given below are the sun Sankranties during which if construction work is started it gives varied results: 1. Sun in the Aries (Mesh) Rashi 14 April to 13 May-very good. 2. Sun in the Taurus (Vrish) Rashi 14 May to 13 June-increase in wealth 3. Sun is in Gemini (Mithun) Rashi 14 June to 13 July-Death 4. Sun is in Cancer (Kark) Rashi 14 July to 13 August-very good 5. Sun is in Leo (Singh) Rashi 14 August to 13 September - increase in number of servants. 6. Sun is in Virgo (Kanya) Rashi 14 September to 13 October -Diseases 7. Sun is in Libra (Tula) Rashi 14 October to 13 November - Happiness/comforts 8. Sun is in Scorpio (Vrishchik) Rashi 14 November to 13 December - Increase in Wealth. 9. Sun is in Saggitarius (Dhanu) Rashi 14 Dec. to 13 January-loss 10. Sun is in Capricorn (Makar) Rashi 14 Jan. to 13 February-gain of wealth. 11. Sun is in Aquarius (Kumbh) Rashi 14 Feb. to 13 March-gain of Jewels 12. Sun is in Pisces (Meen) Rashi 14 March to 13 April-Fear Therefore the 3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th i.e., Mithun (Gemini), Vigro (Kanya), Saggitarius (Dhanu) and Pisces (Meen) Rashies are not suitable and auspicious for starting house construction, and the work should not be started during the period sun is in these Rashis. Among the months, Baisaakh, Shravan, Margshirsh Magh and Falgun are good for the work. Bhadrapad and Kartik are also normally permissible. Construction work should be started on the dates (tithis) 2,3,5,6,7,10,11,12,13,15 and the 1st of Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight). Prohibited date - Starting the construction work on the dates 1,4,8,9,14 and 30 (Amavas) brings Poverty, loss of wealth, loss of money, death of wife, fear from the rulers. Therefore work should not be started on these dates. Constellations - The Nakshatras Rohini, Mrigshira, Chitra, Hast, Swati, Anuradha, Uttarashdah, Uttar Bhadrapad, Uttar Falguni, Dhanshtha, Shatbhisha, Revati are good for starting the house construction work. Lagna - Aries, Gemini, Leo, Virgo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Pisces Lagna, when it is not Panchban and it is not the period of Bhoomi Shayan, and there is some beneficial planet in the centre and triangle positions, and the eighth house is beneficial when there are cruel planets in 3rd, 6th and 11th houses; such periods are good for auspicious starting of the construction work. Bhoomi Shayan - On the days of constellations 5/7/9/12/19/26 the earth is 'sleeping' (Bhoomi Shayan) .it is not auspicious to start construction work during Bhoomi Shayan. Days - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are good days to start construction work. On Sunday or Tuesday starting the work should be avoided. For starting the house construction work, Vrish-vasta calculation should be done. If the constellation of the day counted from that of the sun comes upto 7, it is inauspicious, next 11 it is god and next 10 are again inauspicious. Abhijeet should also be included in counting. Vishisht Yoga (Special combinations) have also been described to start the  house construction. The combination of seven Sakar (starting with 'S' Viz. Saturday, Swati nakshatra, Singh (Leo) Lagna Shukla Paksha (Moonlit fortnight), Seventh tithi, Shubh yoga and Shravan month, is very good for starting the work of a house. It will fetch to the owner growth of all wealth and fortune along with the gain of conveyance, wealth and prosperity, sons and grandsons etc. House construction is not allowed in singh (Leo) Lagna, it should not be started in this Lagna alone, but if the above combination is there with Singh Lagna starting of the work is auspicious. House construction started in Shukla Paksha brings happiness, while that in Krishna Paksha it brings loss. Therefore it is better to start the construction work after well consideration of the Shukla or Krishna Paksha.
